Friday’s Tips & Trends: Creating a Color Palette

Hey all!  It’s Amber, your production manager over here at LBP, here to share with you another weekly tip!

Do you ever get overwhelmed by color?  Sometimes when putting together an outfit, decorating a room, or starting an art project I don’t even know where to begin with my color selection, and the result ends up being a messy jumble instead of a beautiful product.  One of my favorite techniques I use to gain color inspiration is to create a color palette from images I love.

Start off by finding an image that you are in love with.  Chances are, part of the reason you love it so much is because it has great color!  You can pull from anything, like a favorite photograph, a piece of art, or even a great outfit.

Your image probably has a thousand colors in it.  When making a simple color palette, select the three to five colors that are most prominent in the image.  This will give you a simplified break-down of the colors in the image.
